CatalogWash

Fix Shopify duplicate SKU errors before import

Duplicate supplier SKUs can confuse inventory tracking and trigger Shopify import problems. CatalogWash flags repeated Variant SKU values, shows affected rows, and keeps ambiguous conflicts for human review.

What the free report shows

Upload a CSV/XLSX, map supplier SKU columns to Variant SKU, then review duplicate SKU groups alongside product and variant previews.

Browser-first. No Shopify login required.

Frequently asked questions

Does Shopify allow duplicate SKUs in a product CSV?

Shopify will accept the file, but duplicate Variant SKU values cause confusing inventory tracking and can merge or overwrite rows in unexpected ways during import. CatalogWash treats repeated SKUs as an import blocker so you can resolve them before upload.

How do I find duplicate SKUs in a supplier CSV?

Upload the file to the CatalogWash cleaner: the free health report groups every repeated Variant SKU with its row numbers so you can see exactly which rows conflict, alongside the product and variant preview.

Will CatalogWash change my SKUs automatically?

No. SKU conflicts are business decisions — one duplicate might be the same item from two suppliers, another might be a typo. The report suggests a rename (for example LAMP-WARM-2), and the inline editor lets you apply your decision to one row or to every matching row at once.
