CatalogWash
Catch Shopify variant CSV errors before import
Variant imports can split products, merge unrelated rows, or create broken option sets when handles, SKUs, prices, and option names are inconsistent. CatalogWash previews how Shopify will read your product to variant structure.
Review before export
Variant grouping can be ambiguous. CatalogWash shows likely groups and flags unsafe cases, but it does not silently merge ambiguous products for you.

Frequently asked questions
Why are my variants not importing correctly into Shopify?
Shopify groups CSV rows into one product by their shared Handle. Variants break when rows are missing a Handle or Title, when option names and values do not line up (for example an Option2 Value with no Option2 Name), or when unrelated rows accidentally share a handle. CatalogWash previews exactly how Shopify will group your rows before you import.
How many variant options does Shopify allow?
Shopify supports at most three options per product (for example Color, Size, and Material). Columns like Option4 are flagged as import blockers in the CatalogWash health report so you can restructure them before upload.
How do I fix inconsistent option names like Color vs Colour?
The health report flags variants of the same product that use different option names in the same position, such as Color on one row and Colour on another. You can fix the value inline once and apply it to every matching row in one click.
Will CatalogWash merge ambiguous variant rows automatically?
No. Safe deterministic fixes are automated, but ambiguous grouping decisions such as duplicate SKUs or same-title rows without handles are flagged for your review and never silently merged.
