CatalogWash
Fix invalid Shopify inventory quantities in CSV files
Shopify expects Variant Inventory Qty to be a whole number. Supplier files often use words like “many”, “in stock”, or blanks. CatalogWash finds those rows and lets you edit values in the browser.
How CatalogWash helps
Run a free import health report, review affected rows, apply safe fixes, and export a Shopify-ready CSV after payment.
Browser-first. No Shopify login required.
Frequently asked questions
What inventory values does Shopify accept in a product CSV?
Variant Inventory Qty must be a non-negative whole number such as 0, 12, or 48. Words like "many" or "in stock", negative numbers, decimals, and ranges all fail validation. CatalogWash flags every row whose quantity Shopify cannot read.
Why does my supplier file have invalid inventory quantities?
Suppliers often export availability text instead of counts — "in stock", "low", "call", or blank cells. Those values are meaningful to a human but not to Shopify's importer, so they must be converted to whole numbers before upload.
Can CatalogWash fix inventory quantities automatically?
No, and that is deliberate: the tool never guesses what "many" means for your stock. The health report lists every affected row, suggests a safe placeholder like 0, and the inline editor can apply your chosen value to one row or to all rows with the same supplier text at once.
